In earnings management detection tests, it is common for researchers to use variables which partition their sample into two groups, for which differences in motivation for income manipulation are predicted. Since earnings management stimuli are assumed to be correlated with variables like firm performance, leverage or size, the use of these proxies are popular in empirical tests of positive accounting theories hypotheses. The correlation between non-discretionary accruals and the partitioning variable implies that part of the variation of non-discretionary accruals is generated by the partitioning variable. If accruals model does not control for the correlation, this part will be added to the discretionary accruals. In this study, we provide evidence that, when correlation between non-discretionary accruals and the above-mentioned partitioning variables remains uncontrolled, accrual-based models tend to generate measurement error in the estimate of discretionary accruals that significantly affects the sign and the magnitude of correlation between discretionary accruals and the partitioning variables. The findings of a Monte Carlo simulation also indicate that the Jones model relatively generates less type I error when it is adjusted to control for the relation between non-discretionary accruals and firm performance.}, keywords = {Accrual Models,Partitioning Variables,Measurement Errors}, title_fa = {پیامدهای همبستگی خطای اندازه‌گیری سنجه‌ اقلام تعهدی اختیاری و متغیر جداکننده در یک آزمون کشف مدیریت سود}, abstract_fa = {هدف تحقیق حاضر، که با استفاده از یک نمونه شامل 2642 مشاهده از دادههای سالانه شرکت‌های بورس اوراق بهادار تهران برای دوره 1381 تا 1394 انجام شده است، مطالعه در خصوص پیامدهای همبستگی اقلام تعهدی غیراختیاری و متغیرهای جداکننده در آزمون فرضیههای تئوری اثباتی حسابداری است.در آزمونهای کشف مدیریت سود، محققین از متغیرهای جداکنندهای استفاده میکنند که نمونه را برحسب وجود یا عدم وجود انگیزه برای مدیریت سود به دو گروه تقسیم میکند. به دلیل همبستگی مشوقهای مدیریت سود با متغیرهای عملکرد مالی، اهرم یا اندازه شرکت، استفاده از این متغیرها به‌عنوان متغیر جداکننده در آزمون تجربی فرضیههای تئوری اثباتی متداول است. همبستگی اقلام تعهدی غیراختیاری و متغیر جداکننده به این معنی است که بخشی از تغییرات اقلام تعهدی غیراختیاری ناشی از متغیر جداکننده است و اگر این همبستگی در مدل تعهدی کنترل نشود این بخش به اشتباه به اقلام تعهدی اختیاری اضافه میشود. مطابق شواهد تحقیق، عدم کنترل همبستگی اقلام تعهدی غیراختیاری و متغیرهای جداکننده یادشده در مدلهای تعهدی، باعث ایجاد یک خطای اندازهگیری در برآورد اقلام تعهدی اختیاری میشود که علامت یا بزرگی همبستگیِ مورد تحقیق اقلام تعهدی اختیاری و متغیرهای جداکننده را به شکلی معنیدار تحت تاثیر قرار میدهد. یافتههای حاصل از یک شبیهسازی مونت‌کارلویی خطای نوع اول همچنین نشان میدهد که نسخههای تعدیل‌شده مدل جونز که در آنها رابطه اقلام تعهدی غیر اختیاری و متغیرهای عملکرد کنترل میشود، به‌طور نسبی، خطای نوع اول کمتری ایجاد میکنند.}, keywords_fa = {مدل‌های تعهدی,متغیرهای جداکننده,خطای اندازه‌گیری}, url = {https://qjma.atu.ac.ir/article_9845.html}, eprint = {https://qjma.atu.ac.ir/article_9845_187017f72553f74807975b6f0b26bda1.pdf} }
